About Toastique Wharf

Toastique Wharf DC – Health Food Restaurant, Cafe and Coffee Shop

We've been on Maine Avenue since The Wharf's early days, back when this stretch of Southwest Waterfront was still coming together. The waterfront promenade runs right past our door. The Anthem is a block away, Union Stage and Pearl Street Warehouse are close, and the Municipal Fish Market has been selling seafood from barges here since 1805. That's the neighborhood. We fit into it with gourmet toasts, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, and espresso drinks made from responsibly sourced ingredients.

The Wharf stretches about a mile along the Southwest Waterfront with something like 80 restaurants and shops, four hotels, and water taxis to Georgetown and Alexandria. Waterfront Metro on the Green Line is a short walk down M Street. Capital Bikeshare stations line Maine Avenue. L'Enfant Plaza connects to almost every Metro line if you're coming from farther out. People come for concerts, brunch, boat watching, or just to walk the piers and watch the channel traffic. We're here when they need something fresh.

Our Juice Bar and Acai Bowls Along the Water

Juices here are cold-pressed and bottled in glass. Recharge has bright citrus, Detoxify leans into greens, Radiance brings carrot and ginger together. Wellness shots like Immunity and Booster fit into a quick stop before walking down to the Fish Market or catching a show. The smoothie bowls get ordered a lot. Acai Smoothie Bowl with blueberries and banana arranged on top. PB+B with peanut butter drizzle and granola. Matcha Bowl when you want something earthy. Black Mystique if you're feeling curious.

A Cafe Where Toast Is the Main Event

Most waterfront spots treat toast as an afterthought. We built our menu around it. Thick slices come out on wooden boards, layered and arranged like composed plates. Avocado Smash with watermelon radish and microgreens. PB Crunch piled with banana, strawberries, blueberries. Smoked Salmon finished with cucumber and lemon. Tomato Burrata when you want something richer. Spicy Crab for heat. They're made when you order and look good enough that people photograph them before eating.

A Coffee Shop and Espresso Bar Worth Walking For

Full espresso program. Lattes, cortados, Americanos, flat whites, cappuccinos. Nitro cold brew on tap. Collagen lattes in a few flavors. Oat milk, almond, coconut all available. The coffee tastes right every time, which matters when you're stopping in before work or grabbing one before a matinee at Arena Stage. Some people sit by the windows and watch the boats. Others take it to go and head toward the piers.

Breakfast on the Waterfront

Mornings at The Wharf have their own rhythm. Residents heading to L'Enfant Plaza, tourists getting an early start, people finishing runs along the promenade. Breakfast handles all of it. Cocolada Bowl or Matcha Bowl if you want something lighter. Avocado Smash or Tomato Burrata toast when you need more. Green Machine smoothie if you're short on time. Add a cortado and you're good.

Brunch Served Seven Days a Week

Brunch runs every day, not just weekends. Stop by on a random Wednesday after browsing the shops at District Square and you'll find the same menu. PB Crunch toast with its strawberry and banana arrangement. Acai Smoothie Bowl in that bright pink with fresh fruit layered on top. 3 Cheese Italian if savory sounds right. No reservations, no waiting. Order at the counter and grab a spot.

Lunch When the Wharf Fills Up

By midday, The Wharf fills up. People walking between Mi Vida and Hank's Oyster Bar, tourists heading to the Fish Market for steamed crabs, concertgoers killing time before doors open at The Anthem. Office workers from L'Enfant Plaza wander over when they need a break. Our toasts work for that kind of afternoon. Smoked Salmon with an Orange Crush smoothie. Mango Tango Bowl when you want something bright. Grab-and-go options stocked for the truly rushed. Eat well, keep moving, maybe catch a water taxi to Georgetown.

Find Us on Maine Avenue

764 Maine Avenue SW, right on The Wharf promenade. Waterfront Metro on the Green Line is a block away on M Street. Street parking exists, though garages are easier. Water taxis connect to Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, and National Harbor. The Municipal Fish Market is a short walk toward the channel.

Stop by when you're in the neighborhood.
